Overview
Volantis My Data was developed as part of Volantis’ broader mission to simplify and unify the data journey—from raw ingestion to AI-driven insights. The platform allows users to connect various data sources (structured or unstructured), manage them in one place, and prepare them for further processing through tools like Data Pipeline. This project was tightly integrated with other products in the ecosystem, requiring close coordination to ensure compatibility and a seamless experience. I was responsible for laying the foundation of the design and ensuring it supported both current and future integrations across the Volantis ecosystem.
Challenges
Tight timeline: I had only two days to deliver initial designs for two complex products, including My Data, before the engineering team began development.
Limited documentation: The only brief provided was a mini business requirement document in the form of an email containing the product's goal, rough features, and a vague concept.
Low domain knowledge: As someone new to Machine Learning at the time, I had to quickly familiarize myself with key concepts to make informed design decisions.

Process
To kick off the project, I facilitated a stakeholder meeting involving the CEO, CCO, and key division heads to align on goals and prioritize features. This initial discussion gave me clarity on what the product aimed to solve and helped narrow down the core feature set.
With that foundation, I quickly drafted a user flow for each prioritized feature and created rough sketches to visualize the experience. From there, I moved swiftly to mockups, delivering the first working version of Volantis My Data alongside Data Pipeline within just two days. After the initial delivery, I continued to iterate and fill in missing flows in collaboration with the Product Owner.
Despite the short timeline, the early designs served as a strong foundation for implementation, and the close integration with Data Pipeline helped establish a more unified data processing experience.

Deliverables
Despite the intense time pressure, I successfully delivered the initial design of Volantis My Data within two days. The final design followed Volantis’ brand identity—highlighting a clean, modern interface with dark themes and gold accents consistent across its products.
The product allows users to:
Ingest and unify data from various file formats into a centralized platform
Manage metadata and organize datasets efficiently
Visualize and validate data before sending them for further processing or model training
Integrate seamlessly with Data Pipeline, enabling a full ML development workflow from raw data to prediction

Conclusion
Outcome
We successfully launched the beta version within a few weeks of development; however, the overall outcome could not be fully measured due to a company-wide downsizing that affected the team, including myself.
As of 2025, Volantis continues to maintain My Data as one of their core products.
